New Drake Tattoo Forehead

Whoa! Earlier this week, a photo of a woman with no eyebrows and a huge Drake Tattoo inked across her forehead made it’s way around twitter and the web. We here at Nouaintradio.com wanted to know the real story behind what the hell the lady was thinking and what possessed her to get that ridiculous looking mess on her face! It’s obvious she’s a massive Drake fan…or groupie….but we think she took his line in the Rick Ross collab ‘Free Spirit’, ‘Tat my name on you so I know it’s real’ a little too seriously.

Toronto hip-hop star Drake may want to eat his words after an über-fan took his lyrics in "Free Spirit" a little too literally and got his name tattooed across her forehead.

What?!

In Drake's song "Free Spirit," the Toronto native rhymes, "Tat my name on you, so I know it's real/Tat my f***in name on you, so I know it's real/I know it hurts, but I ain't trying to hear it/Cause when I'm not around, I still be there in spirit."

Well, Drake's spirit might not be there, but his name sure has a permanent spot across this anonymous woman's forehead.

Kevin Campbell, a tattoo artist at Will Rise in Los Angeles, is responsible for the woman's ink. While he didn't release her name, he did spill the deets on the (arguably) dumb decision.

"She was really psyched about it. She had the sh**ty font all picked out on her iPhone ready to go and was pretty adamant about putting it on her forehead. She didn't say a word about what it meant to her," Campbell told Vice.com. "She acted as if she had planned it out for a while, but I'm not really sure how much extended coherent thought could actually go into getting such a stupid tattoo on your forehead."

Campbell said the woman only had enough money for the outline and is supposed to come back to finish the design. But she might already be having second thoughts, as Campbell said her mood changed "pretty drastically" when the session was over. (Can you blame her?)

So, does Campbell feel guilty? "I lost a little sleep over it that first night, wondering if I wanted to be known as the a**hole who tattooed 'DRAKE' on some crackhead's forehead," said Campbell. "In the end, she paid me to do this to her, which really means she did this to herself."

Our folks over at Vice Online were able to catch up with the LA Tattoo artist who inked the fool’s lady’s forehead up and he revealed that the lady was probably ‘on one’ when she came into the shop! Pop the hood on the interview:

On his first reaction when the lady said she wanted the tattoo done:
The funny thing is, I didn’t know who Drake was, I figured it was her hood or some sh*t, not some goofnugget R&B dude.

On if she talked about what it meant to her
Yeah, she was really psyched about it. She had the sh*tty font all picked out on her iPhone ready to go and was pretty adamant about putting it on her forehead. She didn’t say a word about what it meant to her, some of the guys at the shop asked her, and she just kinda giggled at them. When I printed up the first image of the lettering, she wanted me to go bigger, so that it went pretty much from each side of her hairline to the other. I thought she shaved her eyebrows for the procedure, so when I put the stencil on the first time, it was right over her (missing) eyebrows, but she had me enlarge it a bit and push it up towards the hairline. But yeah, she acted as if she had planned it out for a while; though I’m not really sure how much extended coherent thought could actually go into getting such a stupid tattoo on your forehead.

On if he feels bad about the tattoo
I guess I feel bad that this dumbass got the name of the softest motherf-cker in hip-hop tattooed on her forehead. But what makes that any less valid of a tattoo to her? I lost a little sleep over it that first night, wondering if I wanted to be known as the asshole who tattooed “Drake” on some crackhead’s forehead. None of the face tattoos I had done prior to this got any publicity, so I was a little surprised that this one took off like it did.

On if he thought it would get this much exposure

There are so many kids walking up and down Fairfax with ridiculous facial tattoos that I didn’t think too much about it before I did it.
In my opinion this whole world’s going to shit, and shit rolls downhill, so I might as well just jump in, hold my breath, and pray to G-d that there’s a nice big soft puddle of diarrhea for me to land in once everything hits the fan.

On what was going through her mind
She was on a pretty good one when she came in, and I think by the time I finished, she was coming down, because her attitude changed pretty drastically once the tattoo was finished.

According to Kevin, she seemed to be a little high, but pretty sure of what she wanted. Kevin says he’ll ask his clients three times if they are sure they think it’s a good idea, and also tell them about the potential consequences of getting a tattoo on the face.

Kevin Campbell from Will Rise tattoo shop in L.A. has already been criticised from other tattooers, and now Drake himself has expressed that he is not please with his decision to do the tattoo. “If I ever see you I’mma f*ck you up”, says Drake.
